Due to the retirement of our Headteacher, we are looking for a dedicated and resilient leader to lead Egerton School, our specialist setting for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex behavioural challenges. We aim to equip our young people with the knowledge, skills and opportunities necessary to achieve their potential. The school currently has 76 pupils on roll and has expanded in the last few years to offer a sixth form provision to help students transition into adulthood. The school has an intentional low student-to-teacher ratio designed to provide personalised support.

The school is set in Davyhulme on the outskirts of Urmston, Trafford and is a valued part of the local community. We are seeking an outstanding headteacher who balances academic learning with a heavy focus on therapeutic interventions, personal development and emotional regulation.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of successful headship in a SEND, PRU or Alternative Provision setting.
  • Bring substantial SEMH education experience.
  • Maintain and develop the highest standards of teaching and learning.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Possess a deep understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed practices and EHCP processes.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, governors, parents and partners.
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Show strong financial management and budget oversight.
