About the Role: As part of Trafford Council’s Public Health Directorate, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape work that supports residents to Age Well and Thrive in Later Life. You will drive key elements of the Age Well and Wider Determinants work programmes, working across the Council, Health and community partners to embed prevention and tackle health inequalities. The successful candidate will champion evidence-led decision-making, influence system-wide change, and deliver impactful programmes - from falls prevention to reducing social isolation and gambling harm - helping improve outcomes and quality of life for Trafford’s residents.

About You: We’re looking for someone with relevant qualifications and experience in public health or a related field, with a strong understanding of the wider determinants of health. You will bring experience of managing programmes, analysing evidence to inform policy and commissioning, and delivering measurable outcomes. You will be an effective communicator, able to build relationships and influence across organisations. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential. Above all, you will be proactive, adaptable, and committed to improving health outcomes and reducing inequalities in Trafford.
