TEACHING ASSISTANT LEVEL 2- SEN – Start date: 1 September 2026 NJC Pay Scale, Band 4 Point 12-17, £28,598 - £31,022 per annum pro rata.

Ashton on Mersey School is part of The Dean Trust serving the community of Sale and beyond.

The role supports pupils, especially those with SEND, within the classroom or outside teaching areas, and may supervise groups in non‑teaching situations.

Responsibilities

  • Work under instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, enabling access to learning for pupils.
  • Assist the teacher in managing pupils and the classroom environment.
  • Supervise groups of pupils during non‑teaching activities when required.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong commitment to supporting all pupils, particularly those with SEND.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and support individual needs.
  • Promotes inclusion, independence, and self‑esteem.
  • Works effectively under guidance and as part of a team.
