This is an exciting time for an experienced professional to lead Trafford’s drive to steer the economy and to support its local community, residents, businesses and stakeholders alike, by securing external resources for place-based projects, regeneration schemes and town centre improvements.

As the Principal Regeneration and Funding Officer, you will be responsible for leading a small team to maximise external funding opportunities to benefit the community of Trafford. You will lead on the co-ordination of funding bids to support regeneration and growth in partnership with other teams in the service and the Place Directorate. You will have responsibility for managing the current Local Authority Flexible Grant (LAFG), Communities and Place programme and future programmes as determined by government, ensuring effective internal systems are in place.

Working in partnership with internal stakeholders, such as Development and Estates, Strategic Planning and Highways, you will support the securing of external funding for associated projects and initiatives as well as supporting the delivery of GM/NW significant projects, including New Carrington, Davenport Green, Wharfside, Old Trafford Regeneration, through the identification of funding for their delivery.

The regeneration and funding function sits within the Inclusive Economy and Communities Team which is part of the Growth, Communities and Housing Service; based at the Town Hall in Stretford, and you will report to the Inclusive Economy and Communities Manager. A flexible hours and working policy is in place however some unsocial hours working is required on occasions.

About You

Applicants must have a degree or equivalent qualification. You will have 3-4 years experience in a related field and proven experience of sourcing, bidding, securing and monitoring of external funding.
