NURSERY MIDDAY ASSISTANT Required from September 2025
Band 1, Points 2 3 (£23,656 – £24,027), Actual Salary £3,418 – £3,472 per annum
1.25 hours per day 11.45am 1.00pm
6.25 hours per week
Monday to Friday, Term Time only
Fixed Term to July 2026 (with a possibility this may be extended)

The Governors of Heyes Lane Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, confident and caring people to join our friendly team. The role involves supervising children during lunch-time.

The duties will include:
Supervision of queues in the dining hall/corridors promoting positive behaviour and fostering positive relationships.
To encourage children to use table manners.
To assist and encourage children to eat, as required.
To deal with health and safety issues, such as cleaning tables, mopping up spillages, etc.
Leaving the dining hall in a clean and tidy condition.
Supervision of children in the playground during lunch time.
In the case of nursery aged children, assist with toileting requirements as necessary.

The successful applicant will:
Have experience of working with children (desirable).
Have a friendly but firm manner.
A tactful, patient approach when supervising the children.
An awareness of the need for confidentiality.
An awareness of health and safety factors in the school environment.
A willingness to undertake training as appropriate.
