This is a hybrid role with a mix of home and office-based working at Trafford Town Hall in Stretford.

Our HR and Payroll Transactions Team process approximately 8,000 salary/contractual changes every month, from a diverse customer group of Council staff, Police staff and officers, Leisure Services staff, Schools and Colleges, teachers and staff.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day processing of changes relating to the employment lifecycle and payroll, received via email and our online portal. This role would suit an individual with a keen eye for detail and an understanding of relevant statutory obligations and policies.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Strong customer service skills. Many of our customers are also our colleagues and we want to work together to resolve their queries.
  • An excellent communicator who can deliver clear messages to customers.
  • Previous experience, preferably in a HR Shared Service or payroll environment.
  • A passion for customer service.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word.
