Lecturer – Constructions Maintenance Operations
Hours: 24.5 hours per week. Permanent Part‑Time.
Salary Scale: £24,513.30‑£34,836.90 pro‑rata (£35,019‑£49,767 full‑time equivalent).
Pension Contribution: 28.68%.
Location: Stretford Campus.
About the Role
Primarily you will be working with students at Level 1 and Level 2 on full‑time Construction Skills and Maintenance Operations study programmes, and potentially with Level 2 apprentices working toward the Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship Standard.
You will be expected to provide young students with an effective foundation to start their careers in a construction setting, guiding them into their chosen progression pathway.
The units of delivery may vary in accordance with the tutor’s skill set, but will include:
- Introduction to Health and Safety in Construction
- Introduction to the Construction Industry
- Introductory Carpentry and Joinery techniques
- Introductory Painting and Decorating techniques
- Introductory Plastering techniques
- Introductory Tiling techniques
- Introduction to Basic Plumbing techniques
This role requires delivering high‑quality, learner‑focused education and developing curriculum and learning strategies that enable student success and thriving in their chosen subject area.
About You
- Qualified construction trades person with significant industry experience.
- Experience across multiple trades such as property maintenance or renovation work.
- Ideally, experience working with young people in an educational setting and holding a Level 5 teaching qualification (Certificate in Education); NQT status will also be considered.
