The Role

Working as part of our highly experienced Engineering department, your role will be to deliver both practical work-based training and classroom-based theoretical teaching to apprentices who specialise in machining and mechanical engineering. This role will require you to deliver high quality, learner-focused education providing quality learning experience for our students. You will be required to develop the curriculum and implement teaching and learning strategies that enable our students to succeed and thrive in their chosen subject area.

About you

You will be an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in machining and manufacturing, ideally with exposure to mechanical engineering. Passionate about developing the next generation of engineers, you will be confident delivering both hands-on workshop training and classroom-based teaching. You will bring current industry knowledge, a commitment to high standards, and the ability to engage and motivate apprentices of varying abilities. Whether you already hold a teaching qualification or are keen to work towards one, you will be dedicated to delivering high-quality learning experiences that support learners to succeed in their qualifications and careers. You will need to be conversant and comfortable in the use of computer systems with particular focus on Microsoft software systems and applications. You will be a strong team player who can communicate well with others, demonstrate respect for and be supportive towards your peers, and be comfortable in a very exciting and busy working environment. You will have a strong, resilient character with a “can-do” approach to challenges.
