The Trafford and Stockport College Group (TSCG) has an opportunity for an experienced Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer to join the Construction Built Environment and Sustainability team to help us achieve our vision of unlocking potential and fostering success.
About The Role
- Primarily you will be working with a range of students at Level 1 and Level 2 on full-time study programmes, and potentially with Level 2 Apprentices. You may also be required to support delivery of multi-trade construction skills and maintenance operations qualifications.
- You will be expected to provide students with an effective foundation to start their careers in a construction setting, with the intent to guide students into their specific chosen progression pathway.
- With a level 3 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery you will teach across all modules on our level 1-3 courses. You will teach full time students and apprentices working on the apprenticeship standards.
- This role will require you to deliver high quality, learner-focused education, providing a quality learning experience for our students. You will be required to develop the curriculum and implement teaching and learning strategies that enable our students to succeed and thrive in their chosen subject area.
About You
- The ideal candidate will be a qualified carpenter/joiner with significant industry experience in both site carpentry and bench joinery.
- Experience of working across other trades would be extremely valuable, for example in property maintenance or renovation work.
- Ideally, you will have experience of working with young people in an educational setting and hold a Level 5 teaching qualification (Certificate in Education), although NQT (Non-Qualified Teacher) status will be considered.
