The Trafford and Stockport College Group (TSCG) is seeking an experienced Maths tutor contributing to our vision of unlocking potential and fostering success.
About The Role:
This role is a pivotal position within the ESOL, lifelong learning & Skills Development team, reporting directly to The Adult and Community leader. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop and refine your professional leadership skills and excellent subject knowledge of functional skills from Entry 1 to level 1. Experience of teaching Maths GCSE or willingness to work towards this.
You will be responsible for:
- Lesson Planning & Delivery
- Prepare tailored lesson plans that align with the curriculum or student goals.
- Deliver engaging sessions that cater to the student\'s learning style and pace.
- Student Progress Tracking
- Track student performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide progress updates to students, parents, or supervisors as needed.
- Resource Development
- Create or curate practice worksheets, revision notes, and study guides for functional skills maths.
- Recommend supplementary resources such as online tools, apps, or books.
- Individualised Support
- Offer one-on-one guidance to address specific difficulties.
- Adapt teaching strategies for students with different needs or abilities.
- Feedback & Reporting
- Provide constructive feedback after each session or at regular intervals.
- Maintain accurate records of sessions, attendance, and progress reports.
- Exam Preparation & Strategy
- Teach time management, problem-solving strategies, and revision techniques.
- Professional Development & Collaboration
- Collaborate with other staff to align tutoring with classroom teaching.
- Stay updated with curriculum changes, teaching methods, and exam board updates.
- Participate in College wide CPD sessions and wider Maths CPD.

You should be organised and reliable, able to maintain clear progress records and provide constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement. A passion for education and a commitment to staying up to date with the latest teaching methods and resources are essential to deliver the best possible support for every learner.
