We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Specialist Commissioning Officer to lead a team of commissioners and lead strategic commissioning for older adults’ services in Trafford. In this senior role, and as a subject‑matter expert you will shape health and social care provision, manage budgets and partnerships, and drive service improvements that deliver real outcomes for our communities. You’ll influence market sustainability, quality assurance, and innovation, ensuring services are inclusive, effective, and value for money.

You bring strategic leadership experience, strong commissioning expertise, innovation and a collaborative approach. You are skilled in managing complex budgets and partnerships, and confident influencing change and driving service improvements. You combine analytical thinking with excellent communication and negotiation skills, fostering relationships across health, social care and voluntary sectors. You are committed to continual learning, valuing others’ contributions, taking ownership of your actions and striving to improve outcomes. You will have a minimum of two years’ management experience within health and social care, hold a minimum degree or equivalent qualification, and possess experience in commissioning and performance management.
