Your Role

Based in our Egham office, we are seeking an

Ocean Import Operations & Pricing Coordinator to join our growing International team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in ocean freight forwarding who is looking to broaden their expertise across both operational and commercial functions.

You will play a key role in ensuring smooth import operations while supporting competitive pricing strategies and maintaining exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Ocean Import Operations
• Manage ocean import shipments from booking through to final delivery.
• Coordinate with overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers, warehouses, and customers.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Arrange customs clearance and ensure compliance with UK import regulations.
• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate shipping documentation.
• Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and service‑related issues efficiently.
• Ensure all files meet operational KPI requirements.
• Maintain accurate records within the freight management system.
• Verify supplier invoices and approve operational costs.
• Pricing & Commercial Responsibilities
• Prepare competitive ocean import quotations for customers and internal sales teams.
• Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines, NVOCCs, and overseas agents.
• Maintain carrier tariffs, contract rates, and surcharge updates.
• Monitor market trends and analyse carrier pricing conditions.
• Support customer tenders and RFQ submissions.
• Accurately calculate freight costs, customs charges, local fees, and delivery costs.
• Ensure pricing accuracy while supporting profitability objectives.
• Develop and maintain strong carrier and supplier relationships.
• Deliver exceptional customer service that reflects the Traffic Tech brand.
• Promote and utilize Cargo Wise quotation tools to support paperless operations.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in ocean import operations and freight pricing.
• Strong understanding of UK import procedures and customs requirements.
• Commercial awareness and experience negotiating freight rates.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills with a customer‑focused approach.
• Experience using Cargo Wise is preferred.
