We are hiring on behalf of a market-leading B2B supplier providing workplace products and safety solutions to national organisations. Their portfolio spans workwear, PPE, site safety and facilities supplies, delivered through a strong UK distribution network. They are looking to appoint an experienced National Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of key national customers.
The Role
You will take ownership of up to 10 National Accounts (combined turnover circa £10M), driving profitable growth, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and maximising account penetration through strategic sales activity and contract negotiation. You will act as a trusted commercial partner, identifying opportunities to expand product adoption and embed long-term supply agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, retain and grow a portfolio of National Accounts
- Deliver against revenue, margin and growth targets
- Build strong relationships with Procurement, H&S and Operational stakeholders
- Identify growth opportunities through spend analysis and gap identification
- Lead client proposals, commercial reviews and sales presentations
- Negotiate, renew and implement national trading agreements
- Develop tailored account development strategies
- Promote the full product and solutions portfolio
- Identify upsell opportunities and coordinate trials
- Resolve client concerns and protect partnerships
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline visibility
- Implement structured client retention strategies
Performance Objectives (KPIs)
- 10 client appointments per week (F2F & virtual)
- Quotes and opportunities followed up within 48 hours
- Meeting notes logged within 24 hours
- Proposals issued within 48 hours
- Opportunities logged and reviewed weekly
- Quarterly growth plan presentations to Directors
- 5 leakage / gap opportunities identified weekly
- 2 hours weekly spend analysis
- Monthly retention plan updates
Skills & Experience Required
- 5+ years in B2B Account Management or Sales
- Experience managing accounts £500k+ revenue
- Strong commercial negotiation skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement ability
- Highly organised and self-motivated
- Strategic growth mindset
- Proficient in MS Office
- Full UK Driving Licence
