We’re partnering with a fast-growing fintech-focused technology business based near Fareham that’s expanding its engineering team. The company is looking for an experienced Software Developer with a strong background in commercial software development, ideally with solid experience in PHP and/or Golang, to help build and maintain high-quality applications.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design, develop and test scalable backend solutions using Golang.
- Maintain and enhance an existing PHP codebase to support ongoing product evolution.
- Work closely with engineers and product colleagues to translate requirements into robust software.
- Participate in code reviews and champion best engineering practices.
- Stay up to date with new technology trends, especially in Go and backend systems.
You’ll have:
- 8+ years of commercial software development experience.
- Strong understanding of software design principles and development patterns.
- Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience in PHP and ideally exposure to Golang (or willingness to learn it).
- A problem-solving attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with financial systems or fintech applications.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Familiarity with unit testing and PCI-compliant environments.
