We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of the fastest-growing companies in the UK’s online Pet Supplies industry. With a rapidly evolving sales presence in North America, Canada, Europe, and Australia, our client offers a diverse range of products including a smart pet tag, pet supplementation, and video vet services.
Our client is looking for an ambitious and self-driven Accountant to join their high-growth, profitable, and investor-backed start-up at an early stage. You will be the founding member of the in-house finance team and have the opportunity to shape and grow the finance function alongside a small team of growth-driven founders and highly capable engineers. As the company grows, promotion opportunities are highly probable.
As the ideal candidate for this Accountant role, you will have the following skills and experience:
- Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Experience with online recurring payments is preferred
- Knowledge of Xero accounting software is preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Highly numeric with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced spreadsheet skills and proficiency in PC literacy
- A drive to improve processes and embrace new challenges
- Ability to work accurately under pressure, paying attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Flexible with time, particularly around month and quarter-end closing
- Highly organized and able to manage your own workload
- Ambitious and prepared to grow with the role, with further education opportunities available
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts
- Continuous management of all financial systems
- Creation and monitoring of budgets
- Monthly payroll processing
- Cash flow management
- Managing overseas corporation tax and sales tax obligations
- Analyzing financial performance and contributing to long-term strategy
- Daily internal financial reporting and KPI tracking
- Assisting with data analysis to provide valuable insights
- Production of monthly and quarterly reports
- Bank and merchant account reconciliation
- Orchestrating weekly payment runs to suppliers
- Helping design, implement, and refine financial systems and procedures
- Managing stakeholder and third-party investor relations
In return, our client offers:
- Salary: £40,000-£45,000
