We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our Engineering Core department, responsible for the platforms that power TradingHub’s market-leading trade surveillance solutions. This includes Infrastructure, Calculation and Web, covering our cloud platform, big-data processing framework and user-facing applications.

The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical leadership across these teams, driving engineering excellence, platform reliability and innovation while building a high-performing organisation aligned to TradingHub’s business objectives.

  • Set architectural standards and drive platform consistency to reduce complexity, duplication, and operational risk.
  • Champion an AI-first approach, identifying and embedding agentic AI workflows to enhance engineering productivity and capability.
  • Translate strategic business objectives into scalable, reliable engineering outcomes, owning end-to-end delivery against critical timelines.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Infrastructure teams to align platform direction, data capabilities and system reliability.
  • Own the reliability and performance of core systems, including uptime, latency, SLOs/SLAs and continuous improvement through incident management.
  • Ensure security, data protection, and regulatory compliance, while leading and developing a high-performing, accountable engineering organisation.

Significant experience of commercial software delivery, preferably within financial technology or 'big tech'. Proven track record of owning and successfully delivering substantial transformation projects on time and with precision. Confident leading high-performing software development teams, especially through changes to working practices. AWS (or other public cloud provider) experience preferable.
