The Role

As TradingHub continues to scale its cloud-based platform and services, effective management of cloud investment is critical to maintaining operational efficiency, cost transparency and long-term scalability. The FinOps Lead is responsible for establishing and embedding a cloud financial management capability across the organisation, ensuring technology investment delivers maximum value. Acting as the connection between Engineering, Finance and Product, the role drives greater visibility, accountability and informed decision-making around cloud consumption, enabling TradingHub to scale sustainably while maintaining financial discipline.

Responsibilities:

  • Own cloud cost management and optimisation across TradingHub's cloud estate
  • Monitor cloud consumption and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  • Drive cost allocation, tagging standards and showback/chargeback models to improve spend visibility and accountability
  • Manage and optimise cloud commercial commitments, including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans and provider discount programmes
  • Partner with Engineering and Finance to forecast spend, evaluate investment decisions and embed FinOps best practices
  • Establish governance, tooling and reporting that enables cost-conscious decision making across the organisation

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing cloud spend within large-scale public cloud environments
  • Strong understanding of AWS and cloud-native infrastructure principles
  • Knowledge of cloud billing models, cost optimisation techniques and commitment-based discount programmes
  • Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps tooling
  • Understanding of tagging, cost allocation and showback/chargeback frameworks
  • Ability to analyse cloud consumption and financial data to identify optimisation opportunities
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical audiences
