The Market Abuse Associate will play a key role in assisting the firm's Market Abuse framework to support the organization in meeting its Market Abuse obligations. This role assists in day-to-day Market Abuse tasks, which will include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertaking daily trade surveillance activities using the firm’s automated surveillance tool and investigating alerts in a timely manner.
  • Identifying risks/issues and discrepancies and proactively escalating to the Market Abuse Manager for secondary review as required.
  • Conducting in-depth investigations into potential market abuse instances and improper activity.
  • Accurately documenting review findings and outcomes and supporting further investigation of suspicious behaviour as required.
  • Investigating internal escalations when necessary.
  • Drafting STOR forms ready for submission to the relevant regulators such as FCA as required.
  • Assisting in maintaining appropriate desk-based policies in relation to market abuse.
  • Assisting in responding to regulatory enquiries on market abuse issues.
  • Assisting in creating and maintaining market abuse related MI.
  • Undertaking any ad-hoc projects supporting technical enhancements to the market abuse program.
  • Supporting other team members with ad hoc tasks as required.

What you need to have:

  • A working understanding of the Market Abuse framework and what those entail.
  • A good working knowledge of financial products with a particular focus on Equities.
  • Strong IT skills with a particular focus on Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Python and/or SQL skills are preferred but not required.
  • A strong background in data science or data analytics is a plus.
  • Knowledge in FCA regulatory requirements and best practices in compliance.
  • A degree in studies focused on finance, statistics, data analysis or related field.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and be adaptable.
