Trading Post Coffee Roasters is an independent and family-run artisan coffee company rooted in Brighton’s vibrant coffee scene. Since opening in 2017, we’ve grown to 11 coffee houses across Brighton and Sussex, with 2 more set to open in 2026. Each is serving freshly roasted coffee, exceptional food, and crafted cocktails. We’re passionate about quality, sustainability, and community; sourcing, roasting, and distributing outstanding coffees from around the world. We are looking for a passionate and driven Wholesale Coffee Trainer to join our team. This role combines relationship management with hands-on coffee training, ensuring our partners consistently deliver excellent coffee and service across their sites. This is a practical, field-based role suited to someone who is passionate about speciality coffee, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in helping others improve their skills.

What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering engaging, hands-on barista training - from introductory to advanced levels - for wholesale partners
  • Developing and refining Trading Post’s wholesale customer barista training programme and materials, keeping them fresh, relevant, and true to our standards
  • Running on-site and virtual training, calibration sessions, and support visits to help partners consistently serve incredible coffee
  • Monitoring coffee quality at partner sites and providing clear, actionable feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Working closely with the sales team to ensure new partners are onboarded smoothly and confidently
  • Monitoring and keeping track of training sessions, partner progress, and quality checks to track impact over time
  • Representing Trading Post at events, workshops, and trade shows - showcasing our expertise and passion for great coffee
  • Supporting internal coffee education, helping to build and nurture a strong coffee culture across the business

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Barista Trainer or senior barista with a genuine passion for sharing knowledge and developing others
  • Strong understanding of speciality coffee – from espresso preparation and milk texturing to grinder calibration and equipment care
  • Confident communicator with great presentation skills and the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of audiences
  • Comfortable travelling and delivering training in different environments – from cafés and offices to events and workshops
  • Highly organised and self-motivated, with the ability to juggle multiple training programmes and priorities
  • Full UK Driving License
