Trading Post Coffee Roasters is looking for a designer who can move comfortably between the practical, fast-turnaround world of in-store marketing and the more considered craft of print collateral and brand-led digital work. This is a broad, hands-on design role covering both digital and print. You’ll work directly with our marketing team on ad-hoc briefs, so no two weeks look quite the same. We’re growing, and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us; not just executing briefs, but helping shape how our brand looks and feels as we open new sites and expand our wholesale trade.

Typical projects include:

  • In-store & POS design: menu boards, window decals, counter cards, seasonal promotional signage across our coffee houses
  • Ecommerce & digital design: web banners, product imagery, email graphics, social assets for our online shop and marketing channels
  • Brochures & collateral: wholesale trade brochures, venue hire brochures, and general marketing collateral that needs to hold its own printed and look considered, not templated
  • New product development: labels, tags, and packaging elements for new coffee and retail product launches, working within (and helping evolve) our brand guidelines

What we're looking for:

  • A strong portfolio spanning both print and digital work: someone who's genuinely comfortable moving between formats
  • Confidence with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) as a minimum; Canva experience is useful for quick-turnaround requests
  • Understanding of print production — finishes, paper stocks, print-ready files — for brochure and label work
  • Ability to work independently against a brief, manage your own time, and turn around ad-hoc requests without heavy hand-holding
  • Comfortable working to brand guidelines while still bringing ideas to the table
  • A genuine self-starter — someone who takes ownership of briefs, spots opportunities we haven't thought of, and helps evolve our brand as the business grows, rather than waiting to be told exactly what to do
  • Experience designing for hospitality, food & beverage, or coffee businesses specifically
  • A genuine interest in coffee or hospitality culture — you don't need to be a coffee obsessive, but an understanding of the sector helps
  • Experience with wholesale or trade-facing collateral (not just consumer-facing)
  • Basic web/ecommerce platform familiarity (e.g. Shopify or WordPress asset preparation)

This is a part-time employed role, 16 hours per week, with days/hours arranged flexibly around the right candidate's availability and our briefing cycle. The role is hybrid remote — most work can be done from home, but we'd like one day per month based at Trading Post HQ, getting hands-on with print proofs, POS placement, and general brand context, and sitting in on marketing catch-ups. Some projects will be planned well in advance (seasonal brochures, NPD launches); others will be genuinely ad-hoc, so reliable turnaround and clear availability across your contracted hours matter more than a rigid schedule.
