A fantastic opportunity is available for a passionate PE/Health Education teacher to become part of a community-oriented school in Williamstown/Altona from Term 3, 2025 in a full time role.
With approximately 1000 students spanning from Foundation to Year 12 across three campuses, this school offers an excellent chance to be part of a vibrant educational community. Whether you\’re a graduate or an experienced teacher, the school provides support, including learning coaching, and offers access to exceptional resources.
- Designing and implementing engaging and developmentally appropriate PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum.
- Providing clear instruction and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises.
- Teach a range of topic related to physical education including health and well-being, nutrition, mental health and personal development.
- Conducting physical fitness assessments to evaluate students\’ strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels.
- Ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment by implementing appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports.
- Organizing and maintaining PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities to ensure they are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
- Integrating health education components into PE lessons to promote students\’ understanding of health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and the benefits of physical activity.
- Assessing students\’ progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.
Skills & Experience:
- Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia
- Current VIT registration
- Demonstrate previous experience in teaching PE/Health
- Ability to provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years (student-teacher mentors are acceptable).
- Teaching PE/Health to students in years 7-10
- Work across campuses in Altona and Newport
- Join a school community that is actively growing and evolving
- Commencement from Term 3, 2025
- Full time- 5 days per week
- Receiving a salary commensurate with your demonstrated expertise, within the range of $78,000 to $116,000 (FT)
