Our client, a specialist ASD school in Southport, is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 7 Nurture Class Teacher to join their team. This unique role offers the opportunity to teach a small class of 5-7 pupils within a primary-style nurture setting, supporting pupils as they transition into secondary education. Pupils remain with the same teacher throughout the day, providing consistency, routine and strong relationships. The class is supported by two Teaching Assistants, and the successful candidate will deliver a broad Year 7 curriculum tailored to individual needs.
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds QTS.
- Has primary teaching experience or experience within a Year 7 nurture/transition provision.
- Can deliver a broad Year 7 curriculum.
- Has experience adapting teaching to meet a range of learning abilities and individual needs.
- Can create a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of ASD and inclusive teaching practices, or is keen to develop this knowledge.
