A welcoming and supportive primary school in NG17 is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a Year 5 class, providing targeted support to pupils with additional learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored interventions
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
- Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement within the classroom
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Monitor progress and contribute to pupil reviews and support plans
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting
- Has experience working with pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, or learning delays
- Is patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
- Can work effectively as part of a wider support team
- Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
