Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting Sports Coaches to work across secondary schools in Wigan, Warrington, St Helens and the Wirral. Many of our partner schools regularly recruit Sports Coaches into Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor and Pastoral Support roles thanks to the transferable skills they bring to the classroom.
If you've coached football, rugby, cricket, netball, athletics, gymnastics or any other sport, your ability to motivate, engage and manage groups of young people is highly valued within secondary schools. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone considering a long-term career in education, teaching or pastoral support.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Supervising lessons using pre-planned work
- Supporting PE departments and extracurricular activities
- Promoting positive behaviour across the school
- Building positive relationships with students
- Mentoring students who require additional support
- Supporting teachers during lessons where required
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have coaching qualifications or relevant sports coaching experience
- Are confident managing groups of young people
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills
- Can motivate and inspire students
- Are adaptable, resilient and enthusiastic
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or are willing to obtain one
