Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting for a caring and motivated Student Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in Wellingborough. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will work closely with students who require additional academic, emotional, or behavioural support, ensuring they remain engaged in education and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students who require additional guidance.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, confidence, and achievement.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist with behaviour management and the implementation of support plans.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and parents to support student progress.
  • Promote positive attitudes towards learning, attendance, and personal development.
  • Monitor student wellbeing and report any concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, youth work, care, coaching, mentoring, or support setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
  • The ability to build trust and rapport with students from a variety of backgrounds.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
