Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Start Date: September 2026 (or ASAP)
Contract: Full‑Time, Long‑Term
We are working with a supportive and inclusive secondary school in Wellingborough that is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team on a full‑time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about supporting young people in their education. The successful candidate will work closely with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their academic and personal goals.
Role
- Provide classroom‑based support to students across a range of subjects.
- Deliver 1:1 and small‑group interventions to support learning and progress.
- Assist teachers in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students who may require additional academic, behavioural, or emotional support.
- Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and promote student independence.
- Monitor and record student progress where required.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, coaching, or support setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Positive, patient, and proactive approach.
- The ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed.

Requirements
