We are working in partnership with a secondary school in Wellingborough who are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled DT and Photography teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a full‑time maternity cover basis. Whether your specialism is Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, Textiles, Resistant Materials, or Photography/Digital Media, this role offers the chance to inspire the next generation of designers, creators, and visual storytellers.
What You'll Be Doing- Planning and delivering engaging, practical Design & Technology and/or Photography lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 where applicable)
- Developing students' creative thinking, technical skills, and visual communication abilities
- Teaching safe and effective use of tools, equipment, and digital/photographic software
- Encouraging experimentation, independence, and creativity in all learners
- Supporting students in developing strong portfolios for coursework and examinations
- Creating an inspiring, well‑managed classroom, workshop, or studio environment
- Working collaboratively with a supportive and forward‑thinking department
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Design & Technology and/or Photography in UK secondary schools
- Confidence delivering at least one DT specialism or Photography/Digital Media
- Strong classroom management, organisation, and communication skills
- A genuine passion for creativity, design, visual arts, and innovation in education
- Ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities
- Full‑time maternity cover position starting September 2026
