About the Role

A warm, welcoming primary school in Ulverston is seeking an enthusiastic and nurturing Teaching Assistant to join their team starting Monday. This is a full-time position working within EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) and KS1 (Key Stage 1). You will be playing a vital role in supporting young learners during their crucial early years of education, helping to foster a safe, engaging, and fun learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering creative and interactive lessons.
  • Working 1:1 or in small groups with children to support their reading, writing, and foundational skills.
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour and encouraging positive social interaction.
  • Creating a supportive environment where children feel confident and motivated to learn.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous experience working within an EYFS or KS1 setting is highly desirable.
  • Qualifications: A relevant TA qualification (Level 2 or 3) is a plus, but a passionate and proactive attitude is essential.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, patience, and a genuine love for working with younger children.

Requirements: Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to process a new one immediately.
