About the Role

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in young people's lives? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to partner with a thriving, highly regarded secondary school in the beautiful town of Ulverston to find a passionate Teaching Assistant for the upcoming academic year.

In this role, you will work closely with classroom teachers and the SEN department to support secondary students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will play a vital role in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full academic and personal potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with varied learning needs.
  • Assisting class teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
  • Helping create an inclusive, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Fostering strong relationships with students, helping them develop social and emotional skills.
  • Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to the SENCO and teachers.

What We Are Looking For

  • Prior experience working with children or young adults (preferably in an educational or youth work setting).
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
