We are working in partnership with a friendly and ambitious primary school in Kettering that is seeking to appoint a committed Key Stage 1 Teacher from September 2026. This full-time, permanent position would suit a teacher who is confident adapting their approach to meet the needs of children across different stages of their early education. The Role
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across a mixed Reception and Key Stage 1 class
- Adapt teaching and resources to meet the different developmental stages and learning needs of pupils
- Create a stimulating classroom environment where children feel confident, supported, and motivated to learn
- Develop children's early reading, writing, phonics, numeracy, and communication skills
- Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and inform future teaching
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and personal development
- Encourage independence, curiosity, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning
- Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
- Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support pupil progress
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and its community
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in Reception or Key Stage 1 is desirable but not essential
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Confident adapting lessons for pupils at different stages of development
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
- A nurturing and engaging approach to teaching young children
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
- Adaptable, reflective, and committed to professional development
- ECTs are encouraged to apply and will receive a comprehensive induction and mentoring programme
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
