Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a Deputy Head of Alternate Provision on behalf of an exciting new Alternative Provision opening in Towcester this October. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced middle leader, senior teacher or aspiring head to play a pivotal role in establishing a new provision dedicated to supporting young people who require a personalised approach to education.

About the role

Working closely with the Head of Alternate Provision, you will help lead the daily running of the centre, ensuring students receive outstanding pastoral support, high-quality teaching and a safe, engaging learning environment. You’ll be instrumental in developing a positive culture where students are encouraged to overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Provision with day-to-day leadership of the centre.
  • Lead on behaviour, attendance and student wellbeing.
  • Coach and develop teaching and support staff.
  • Monitor teaching quality and student progress.
  • Build strong relationships with families, schools and external agencies.
  • Ensure safeguarding remains at the heart of everything the provision does.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Leadership experience within Alternative Provision, SEMH, SEND or specialist settings is desirable.
  • Strong behaviour management and safeguarding knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
