As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes across the primary age range during teacher absences. Lesson plans and activities will already be prepared, and your role will be to ensure pupils remain engaged, on task, and learning in a safe and positive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise classes across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 as required
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities
- Encourage pupils to stay engaged and complete the work set
- Maintain a positive, calm, and inclusive classroom environment
- Manage behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy
- Support pupils' learning and wellbeing throughout the school day
- Liaise with teaching staff and report on pupil progress or any concerns
- Act as a positive role model and promote the school's values at all times
Who We're Looking For
- Experience working with children (education, childcare, coaching, youth work, care, or similar)
- A confident, patient, and approachable manner
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and organised
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
- An interest in pursuing a career within education is desirable but not essential
