About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with additional educational needs. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCO and other professionals to enable the pupil\’s access to the curriculum and develop their independence and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one support to the identified pupil during lessons
- Adapt classroom resources and tasks to meet the pupil\’s needs
- Assist with personal care, where appropriate, maintaining dignity and promoting independence
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback and reports to staff
- Support the pupil\’s social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Work collaboratively with class teachers, therapists, and parents
- Uphold school policies, particularly safeguarding, behaviour, inclusion
Person Specification / Skills, Experience & Qualities
- Experience working with children, especially with SEN / additional needs
- Ability to remain calm, patient, consistent and encouraging
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic literacy & numeracy competence
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willing to be DBS checked)
