SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Primary School based in Wimbledon, Merton

Location: Wimbledon, Merton, South West London

Contract: Full-time from Monday 18th May 2026. End date: ongoing until July 2026.

Are you passionate about making a real difference to children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Tradewind Recruitment are supporting one of their partnership primary schools based in the Wimbledon, Merton area, to find a calm but engaging 1:1 Teaching Assistant for one of their KS1 pupils with severe ADHD. This is a beautiful, large primary school with an excellent reputation in the area. Due to the wonderful reputation the school has, they are consistently over-subscribed with pupils every year - testament to the school's great culture.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 tailored support for your assigned pupil in KS1
  • Be confident to support SEND, including ADHD and Emotional Dysregulation
  • Remain calm and composed for the child to promote learning
  • Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP target and support plan
  • Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of the child
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Calm, Patient, Enthusiastic (desired to have interest in sports)
  • Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or inclusion
  • Confident supporting ADHD
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • Available Monday to Friday
