Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Overview

Are you passionate about supporting children with speech, language and communication needs? Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated and caring Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils requiring speech and language intervention within a welcoming and inclusive school environment.

Role

This rewarding role will involve working closely with teachers, SEND professionals and Speech & Language Therapists to help pupils develop their communication skills, confidence and independence both inside and outside the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Deliver targeted interventions and communication programmes
  • Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups
  • Encourage pupil engagement and participation in lessons
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Liaise effectively with parents, therapists and external professionals where required

Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable
  • Understanding of speech and language difficulties would be advantageous
  • Patient, resilient and compassionate approach
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Commitment to helping every child reach their full potential
