Overview
Are you passionate about supporting children with speech, language and communication needs? Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a dedicated and caring Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils requiring speech and language intervention within a welcoming and inclusive school environment.
Role
This rewarding role will involve working closely with teachers, SEND professionals and Speech & Language Therapists to help pupils develop their communication skills, confidence and independence both inside and outside the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Support pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Deliver targeted interventions and communication programmes
- Work on a 1:1 basis and with small groups
- Encourage pupil engagement and participation in lessons
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Liaise effectively with parents, therapists and external professionals where required
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable
- Understanding of speech and language difficulties would be advantageous
- Patient, resilient and compassionate approach
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Commitment to helping every child reach their full potential
