Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a dedicated SEMH School in Bottesford, who are seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2. This is a full-time TA role involving 1:1 support, small-group work and assisting the class teacher in creating a calm, structured learning environment.
The Role
- Support KS1 and KS2 pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, creative learning activities.
- Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.
- Provide consistent routines, reassurance and structure throughout the school day.
- Work closely with the pastoral and therapeutic teams to support pupils' holistic development.
- Help implement behaviour strategies and personalised support plans.
- Encourage independence, confidence and resilience in each child.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs (school, youth work or similar).
- A patient, empathetic and child-centred approach.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative.
- Willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Due to the rural location, own transport and ability to drive are essential.
Working Hours
Monday-Thursday: 08:30 - 16:30
Friday: 08:30 - 16:00 (early finish!)
