We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Modern Foreign Languages Teacher to join our vibrant secondary schools across the Thanet area from September until December 2026 in the first instance. The successful candidates will inspire students to develop a passion for languages and cultural understanding, delivering high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and Key Stage 5 if applicable). Languages offered may include French, Spanish, and/or German.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured MFL lessons that cater to a range of abilities
- Teach one or more languages across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential)
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in line with school policies
- Differentiating teaching to support all learners, including those with SEND and EAL
- Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and departmental resources
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning
- Use a range of teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student engagement
- Support students in achieving excellent outcomes in internal and external assessments
- Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and enrichment activities (e.g. trips, language clubs)
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote student wellbeing at all times
Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge and passion for languages
- Proven experience of teaching languages within a secondary school environment
- Ability to motivate and inspire students of all abilities
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and behaviour
- Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references
