Are you passionate about making a real difference to children at an alternative provision school for students who have been, or are at risk of being, excluded from mainstream schools? Tradewind Recruitment are supporting one of their partnership Alternative Provisions in Swadlincote to recruit for dedicated, approachable and lively Teaching Assistants. This is a wonderful, dedicated Alternative Provision which is part of a successful trust but holds a community feel within the local area. The school has a wonderful reputation in the area with parents and is a school regularly requested by supply staff to return to.
The Role:
- Provide 1:1 support for your assigned pupils
- Be confident to support SEND, including ASD, ADHD, Emotional Dysregulation
- Support learning, emotional regulation, and social development
- Work alongside class teachers and SENCOs to implement EHCP target and support plan
- Adapt learning resources to meet individual needs of the child
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Hours:
- Monday to Wednesday - 08:10 to 15:50
- Thursday - 08:10 to 16:20
- Friday - 08:10 to 15:40
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds at least a Level 1 Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3 desirable)
- Has previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within SEND or inclusion
- Confident supporting pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary setting
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to pupil progress and wellbeing
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
- Available Monday to Friday (part-time roles still require weekday availability)
