Tradewind Recruitment is pleased to be recruiting for a Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant (SLTA) to work with an Alternative Provision based in Swadlincote. This is a full-time position starting as soon as possible, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
This is a unique and highly rewarding role where you will be working both from the school base and off-site within the community, delivering tailored support to pupils in their homes. We are looking for someone who is flexible, resilient and confident working independently.
The Role:
- Delivering tailored 1:1 tuition to pupils in their homes and within the community
- Planning and delivering bespoke learning programmes to meet individual needs
- Teaching Maths, English and PSHE to a good standard
- Supporting pupils with a range of behavioural, emotional and additional needs
- Monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress
- Building positive, professional relationships with pupils and families
- Liaising with school staff to ensure consistency and continuity of learning
- Working independently while remaining part of a wider supportive team
- Getting fully involved in all aspects of the provision as required
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working in a school or alternative provision setting (essential)
- Strong subject knowledge in Maths, English and PSHE
- Confidence delivering lessons independently to individuals outside of a classroom setting
- Experience working with pupils with additional needs or behavioural challenges (desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High levels of resilience, initiative and adaptability
- A genuine passion for supporting young people on personalised learning journeys
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
