What to expect as a Supply Teacher?
- Deliver lessons based on the absent teacher\’s plans-or create your own if necessary-to ensure continuity of students\’ learning.
- Supervise and engage students during lessons, breaks, lunch, detention, and other school routines.
- Manage classroom behaviour, enforce expectations, and uphold the school\’s behaviour policies.
- Take registers, attend assemblies, and undertake other day-to-day duties of the permanent teacher.
- Ensure a safe, secure learning environment and follow school safety protocols (e.g., fire drills, safeguarding).
The ideal applicant:
- Qualified Primary trained teachers (QTS) – open to ECTs and experienced teachers
- Flexible, adaptable and reliable professionals
- Punctual and Friendly
- Strong classroom management skills
- Enthusiasm to make a positive impact in a range of school settings
- Open to working with either EYFS or Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 on a supply basis
- Able to travel across varying Primary Schools in Croydon for an 8:15-8:30am arrival
