We are working with a number of inclusive and student-focused schools across Kettering that are seeking Student Welfare Officers to join their teams from September 2025. These full-time, permanent positions offer an exciting opportunity to champion student wellbeing, promote positive mental health, and ensure that every young person feels safe, supported, and able to thrive in school.

About the Role:

  • Provide dedicated pastoral care and welfare support for students with a range of social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Act as a key point of contact for safeguarding concerns, working closely with the school's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
  • Build strong relationships with students, offering one-to-one and small group support where needed
  • Monitor attendance and liaise with families to support positive school engagement
  • Contribute to behaviour support strategies and a positive school culture
  • Work in partnership with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external agencies to ensure holistic care
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with safeguarding and data protection policies

We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, youth work, or care setting
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to student support
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence in managing sensitive situations and maintaining professional boundaries
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour support, and mental health awareness (training available)
  • A genuine passion for improving student wellbeing and fostering inclusive education
