Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full-time student support officer to work at an excellent school in Hull, starting as soon as possible and lasting until ideally Easter 2026, with the potential for this to extend longer in the future. This is a temporary role, based on a sickness, and thus may be longer in the future. This full-time role involves the working hours of 8:30 - 3:30, and due to the nature of the role, part-time options would not be considered in the first instance. Payment for this position will be between Β£100 and Β£120 per day, depending on experience in similar roles in the past.

We are looking for a practitioner who can build strong relationships with students in this pastoral facing role. The aim of the role being to ensure that students are successful inside and out of school. You will be responsible for providing care to students during school, and feed in directly to the assistant head of years/head of years to ensure that student care provision is being carried out. This role will include working closely with students and parents/carers alike. You will also be responsible for student supervision at break and lunch times.

This is a large school with an excellent reputation in the local area. It is part of a small, local academy trust, so opportunities in this position may lead to further opportunities in the local area. The school has a large pastoral team with a fantastic head of department who will provide great support for student support officers. There is a large SEND team, so once this position ends, there may be potential for a long-term Teaching Assistant role.

Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College. You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.

  • Have experience working as a student support officer, or working in a learning support role
  • Have experience working within schools in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the full CV History
  • Legal right to work in the UK
