Tradewind Secondary is working with a number of well established and well managed schools in the Stevenage area who are looking for part time and full time cover supervisors to help on a supply basis. We are looking for reliable, enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join our team and benefit from flexible shifts, ongoing roles and schools seeking the best cover staff to move onto teacher training.

Lessons are set, behaviour plans are established and distributed and pupils are respectful. Starting asap and required until the end of next Academic year (July 2076) we’re offering flexible / ongoing and consistent work on the days you’re free. We’re looking for Cover Supervisors to work throughout our network of schools in Stevenage. For those who impress there will be potential for temp-to-perm opportunities including routes into teacher training.

Applications from confident individuals with experience working with children or young people in other sectors, such as sports coaching, youth work, tutoring, or childcare are encouraged to apply. All applicants must be local to the Stevenage or willing and able to commute on a daily basis.

The Role:

  • Delivering pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment
  • Supporting pupils in their learning and answering general questions
  • Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and classroom activity

About You:

  • Experience working with children or young people (ideally in a school, youth or support setting)
  • Calm, confident, and able to manage classroom behaviour effectively
  • Flexible and able to adapt to different subjects and classroom settings
  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners
  • Degree or Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential
