Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a number of secondary schools across Northumberland and the surrounding area, who are actively seeking a Science Teacher to join their departments ASAP or from September 2026. We are considering applications for temporary, short-term, part-time, full-time and permanent positions.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Teaching engaging Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Key Stages 3 and 4 (with A-Level options available in some schools)
- Planning creative practical and theory lessons that develop scientific enquiry, analytical thinking, and real-world application
- Delivering and demonstrating practical experiments safely, following all relevant health and safety protocols
- Adapting teaching to meet the needs of mixed-ability learners
- Working collaboratively within a supportive Science department to share resources, schemes of work, and best practice
- Supporting or leading extra-curricular science activities such as STEM clubs, revision sessions, or science fairs
About You:
- A qualified Science teacher (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) specialising in Science or one of the three disciplines
- Confident teaching the national curriculum for Science and preparing students for GCSE exams (and potentially A-Levels)
- Passionate about making Science engaging, hands-on, and accessible for all learners
- Committed to helping students develop curiosity, experimental skills, and strong scientific understanding
- A team player who contributes positively to department and school life
- Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply - comprehensive support will be provided throughout your induction.
