Are you a passionate and dedicated SEND Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? Tradewind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a committed and enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Burton on a full-time basis from September 2026 to cover a maternity leave. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist setting, supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

As the SEND Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual learning needs
  • Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and associated communication needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and the wider school team
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, wellbeing, and achievement

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs, either in a mainstream or specialist setting
  • A patient, adaptable, and compassionate approach to teaching
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A strong commitment to inclusive education and safeguarding
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
