Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with an inclusive and supportive primary school in Bamber Bridge to appoint a passionate 1:1 Support Assistant. This is a long-term, full-time role assisting a Key Stage 1 (KS1) child who benefits from a structured, active, and engaging environment.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil throughout the school day, helping them access the curriculum and stay engaged in learning.
- Channel your background in sports to build strong rapport, implement active movement breaks, and act as a positive role model.
- Assist the classroom teacher by implementing structured routines and supporting positive behaviour management.
- Help develop the pupil's social interaction, confidence, and resilience both inside the classroom and during outdoor play.
What We Are Looking For
- A strong background in Sports Coaching, Physical Education, Sports Science, or Youth Activity Leadership.
- Experience working with or coaching children (sports clubs, summer camps, or primary school environments).
- A patient, resilient, and high-energy personality with a natural ability to build trust and rapport.
- An interest in or prior experience with SEN (Special Educational Needs) is beneficial, but strong transferable coaching skills are highly valued.
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind).
