Are you passionate about inspiring young children through sport and physical activity? Do you enjoy supporting individual learning needs in a school environment? We are supporting a Primary School seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Sports Coach to join the friendly and inclusive primary school team. This is a dual role, combining leading physical education sessions with providing 1:1 support for a child with additional learning needs in year 1.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Sports Coach:
- Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons and lunchtime/after-school sports clubs.
- Promote physical well-being, teamwork, and a love for sport across the school.
- Support teachers in delivering the PE curriculum and school competitions.
- Provide tailored support to a specific child, helping them access the curriculum.
- Assist in developing learning strategies and encouraging positive behaviour.
- Work closely with class teachers, SENCO, and parents to track and support progress.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with children in a school or coaching setting.
- A recognised coaching qualification (e.g., Level 2 in Coaching or equivalent).
- Experience or understanding of supporting children with additional needs.
- A patient, nurturing approach with excellent communication skills.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
