We are currently recruiting flexible Special Needs Teaching Assistants to work on a supply basis across 3 warm and well-established specialist schools across Gloucestershire. Whether you\'re looking for part-time, ad-hoc, or short-term placements, we can offer work that fits your lifestyle.

About the Role

You will support children and young people aged 2-19 with a range of additional needs, such as:

  • Autism (ASC/ASD)
  • Severe or moderate learning difficulties
  • Physical disabilities
  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Sensory Processing Differences (SPD)

Depending on the needs of the school and your availability, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 or small‑group support
  • Assisting with sensory‑based and structured learning activities
  • Using visual aids and alternative communication methods
  • Supporting with personal care where required
  • Helping to create a calm, nurturing and inclusive environment
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff

Ideal Candidate

We\'re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (in schools, care, youth, or community settings)
  • Is patient, compassionate and resilient
  • Can adapt their approach to suit different learners
  • Works well as part of a supportive team
  • Is available for flexible supply during term time (full or part days)

Experience with PECS, Makaton, sensory strategies or Team-Teach is a bonus - but not essential, as training can be offered.
