Location: Northampton | Start Date: October 2025 | Full-Time | Permanent or Long-Term

Do you have a passion for understanding society, power, and ethics – and a drive to inspire the next generation of critical thinkers? Could you lead engaging discussions on justice, government, and human behaviour while equipping students with the skills to think independently and debate confidently?

Your Role Will Include

  • Teaching A-Level and GCSE courses in subjects such as Politics, Law, Philosophy, or Ethics (exact mix based on your strengths and the school\’s curriculum)
  • Leading thought-provoking lessons that develop students\’ ability to question, analyse, and evaluate complex ideas
  • Encouraging open dialogue and respect for diverse viewpoints
  • Supporting academic success through structured exam preparation and critical skills development
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school, such as debate clubs, student parliament, or enrichment days

What We Are Looking For

  • Holds QTS/QTLS or an equivalent teaching qualification in a relevant subject
  • Brings strong subject knowledge and a deep enthusiasm for the Social Sciences
  • Has experience (or a strong interest) in teaching at Key Stage 4 and 5
  • Is confident leading discussions, managing debate, and encouraging critical thinking
  • Works well in a collaborative environment and contributes positively to department planning
  • Is either an experienced teacher or a motivated ECT looking to specialise in Social Sciences
