Social, Emotional Mental Health Teaching Assistant Required – Immediate Start. Location: Runcorn. Contract: Full-time, Long-term.
A primary school in Runcorn is looking for a passionate and reliable Social, Emotional Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 9th. This is a full-time position with the potential to become permanent for the right person.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with a pupil who requires additional SEMH support.
- Using tailored strategies to help them regulate emotions and behaviour.
- Adapting learning activities to make sure the curriculum is accessible.
- Building a safe, inclusive environment where the child can thrive and gain confidence.
Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs (primary school experience is ideal).
- A calm and patient manner, with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations.
- Understanding of behaviour management approaches.
- A Level 2/3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning would be beneficial, but not essential.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
